Our Philosophy on Soccer Camps
Glen Shields FC runs an extensive training program throughout most of the year
under the name GFC Academy. Different training programs afford players unique
opportunities to train, to play and to improve. Throughout the season there are programs
that cater to specific needs to those soccer players who want, need or deserve more. Examples
of these programs would be Elite Training, Friday Night Finishing School, our Goalkeeping
Program or the newly formed Breakfast Club for Defenders. Basically this program allows
any player to play as much soccer as any one player can handle. Throughout peak times of
the year we offer three sessions a day, four days a week. Players are welcome to attend as
many sessions as their legs and head can handle.
If players want more soccer, we will find it for them. As a result, we do not offer camps
on a regular basis on a large scale. We will sometimes offer specialized camps for
goalkeepers or goal scorers. We may offer indoor camps during the winter or developmental
camps in winter or summer, but they typically cater to small numbers as opposed to the
masses. We may agree to host camps from time to time from outside professional soccer
organizations representing Clubs from overseas to expose our players to different coaching
styles and environments. However, plainly put, if you have soccer needs we will try to
meet them without you breaking the bank account.
If young players want to get away and experience travel to meet new people or be in a
babysitting service, there are certainly many camps who can help achieve these goals. If
players want to become better players, then contact Glen Shields FC and we'll find a solution.
