U11 Girls Sun Devils win the COVI Tournament: The Girls outplayed every team this weekend and even lost a game but won in the final 2-1 over Pickering. It was a total team effort. Players endured the heat, injuries and the fatigue in playing 5 games in 2 days. It was just what the Doctor ordered. The coaches would like to acknowledge the Iplay Academy and the Technical staff for the job they do. Our girls outperform and outclass our opponents and that has to do with the training they get.
The Glen Shields Soccer Club, together with the Kleinburg-Nobleton Soccer Club, and the Vaughan Soccer Club, hosts the COVI Soccer tournament, in May of each year. Divisions span most age groups, girls and boys, is very efficiently run, and has excellent quality soccer fields.
The 2009 COVI tournament took place, May 30 and May 31.
